Have a Water Cooled Muffler?? Don't Let It FREEZE!!
« on: December 22, 2022, 07:25:14 PM »
Just an reminder with all this cold weather coming down on those who aren't accustomed to it, be sure to drain those water cooled mufflers! I don't know what would happen if they were left to freeze, there usually isn't much in them after shut down, but it's better to be safe than sorry! \./8

Thanks for the reminder.
Should I refill the oil after draining or wait until Spring?
Also, keeping the Lithium batteries in the basement at 55-60 degrees OK?

-2F with 50 mph gusts today... :'(

Good thing you don't have any rain in your forecast the next few days, it could have been snow with those temps.  :-O

If you're going the change the oil now, it would be good to warm it up before draining. Then fill with fresh and run it for a few minutes and it's ready. Store with oil full is fine. Lithium is fine in your basement. It's gusty today, only 15-20 mph here and 39°, wind chill feels like 20. Will get to 18 by morning. Not a record for here, but it is very rare. Only a few times has it gone that low that I've seen. I'd prefer 120.... lol
