Simple HF trailer setup
« on: June 18, 2022, 11:19:19 AM »
Harbor Freight trailers are everywhere.  This one came with a 2009 boat and was fitted with a piece of plywood.  Tailoring it for a single Mokai was inexpensive, a couple treated 2x4's and a 1x4, a roller and a lightweight trailer jack.  Tom's idea of ratchet strap to snug the bow and a bow safety chain plus a couple cam straps keep the boat in place.  Works well.  Thanks, Chuck for the cam strap idea.

Simple, but functional. That cup holder on the bow roller strut shown in the third photo is a special touch… :))

Ha, ha.  Good eye.  That cup actually came with the trailer jack.  Wheel fits in and trailer doesn't roll.

Looks great but I would add a 2x to fill in the rear section, so the bottom of the boat is completely supported. Left open like that the hull will sag over time, leads to cracks and strange behavior.
