Another kx21 question
« on: January 13, 2022, 05:47:56 PM »
Hello everyone
So I swapped everything over from ex to kx, as well as steering conversion, water cooled muffler, and did plenum mod and kx wouldn’t fire?
Turns out no spark, disconnected kill wire off coil and it fires right up?
I had pulled ex kill wire and just plugged that into kx coil on kx engine, seemed simple,,?

So I plugged in manual kx on/off switch and into kx coil in on position it fired up, but wouldn’t shut off?
Am I missing something simple here
Thanks in advance
G

Need pics of your wiring and safety kill switch on the cockpit. Sounds like you forgot to put the safety lanyard key in the switch, and then you didn't ground the stock KX switch to the engine properly.

It was the safety kill switch, fires right up and shuts off, so glad I asked lol,
Couple other questions before I throw it all back together
I bought this used, I see the clutch has a grease nipple in it, how often should I grease?
The two smaller electrical plugs to engine were for electric steering and throttle? I won’t need them with conversion?
Water cooled muffler, I just installed,  should I run a siphon hose to run while on the bench?
Thanks  Tom, much appreciated

The clutch does not have a grease fitting, never has. The two smaller plugs are not used now, do with them what you wish. Water cooled muffler doesn't need any water while idling, only while on the river under way.
