2006 MOKAI
« on: January 11, 2022, 11:56:05 AM »
I have an opportunity to purchase a 2006 Mokai with all original equipment.  I have heard some bad things about the Honda motor that is in that model.  Looking for opinions is it worth getting an old one or should I go for a new one?  How much would it cost to upgrade the old one to modern standard?

If the price is right that's a great boat to start with. It can be upgraded to the Tillotson but the original Honda wasn't a bad motor, just slow and pull start only with no charging system. Ball park figure for me to do a complete upgrade on that  boat with all my upgrades, would be around 2k. That gives you what's shown in the video below.
