Fun Buggy RC Project with old Mokai Parts
« on: October 11, 2019, 11:59:39 PM »
As many of you know I'm pretty deep into the RC hobby, primarily large scale aircraft. I grew up racing RC trucks etc... and here lately I've been wanting to find something to put some old ES-kape steering servos and an old EX21 I've pieced together from several junk motors. Browsing Facebook marketplace a while back I found an old Polaris 4x4 ATV for $80 and the flame was lit. For those of you who find this kind of thing interesting, enjoy.  >:D

I like this but looking forward to the first 40 MPH Mokai. I know someone had one up to 32 mph with a jet ski motor thought someone would have done better by now.

Haha Putting that much power in a plastic boat is going to have long term problems. These pumps are not going to hold up to that kind of power for long, would required a whole new design, as well as the hull.

You want fast, get a jet ski! Build a jet jon with a jet ski. The ability to go fast has been around for a long time, you just have to use it in what it was intended for, or something that can hold up to it. But to go fast in a Mokai you have to have power, and that means weight, and a Mokai that can't go in shallow water isn't as much fun if that's what you are used to playing in. The 2.0 has shown how much weight matters, they found some speed there but now the boat drafts a lot more than the previous models; and as a result not as versatile.
