Starting issues
« on: July 08, 2019, 11:26:17 AM »
So I'm having trouble starting the boat after bypassing the governor.
It appears the throttle linkage and choke linkage are too long now.
I can get it to start ,but has to be at 1/2 throttle, and it won't idle   >:(
Any suggestions, trying to get on the water today.....HELP :'(

Thanks, muddy

Bypassing the governor has no effect on the choke rod at all. The throttle linkage rod has to be remade to connect the lever from the cable to the carburetor directly. Idle speed screw is on the carb, you had to adjust that to raise idle speed. Governor arm also has to be adjusted so the gear inside won't self destruct.

I made a new rod a little longer, adjusted the idle screw and now I think it's good.  \./8
Headed out to the water,
