Can electric start be added to a EX21?
« on: June 28, 2019, 11:22:00 PM »
Can the recoil start mechanism be pulled off, and replaced with an electric start, or is there physically something different with the electric start version? Like a different fly wheel, and mounts? Just got my Mokai today, so please forgive my ignorance, or if this has been discussed before. I did search first, and found lots about putting electric start motors in, but nothing about retrofitting a pull start to electric start. Thanks in advance! f

Yes, and no. The parts could be added to your motor, but you can't get the parts separately to do the conversion, and even if you could they would cost more than buying a whole new electric start engine. I have new ES EX21's in stock if you want me to do the conversion.
