2nd run, just as fun
« on: May 05, 2019, 01:21:08 PM »
Well I took it out on the river this week, it was really flooded but the Mokai did great.
My GoPro though, not so much, so no pics or footage. I'm still new a videoing.

Anyway I had a few issues, nothing major, one was the boat seemed to "pull" to the right when I was trying just to go straight "neural" position on the lever. I think I need to adjust the cable out a little. Has anyone indexed the pump and hull so it lines up perfect every time? I seem to have trouble getting it square.

The other issue is, it feels as if I've lost a little speed.   >:(
Could it be the wear ring? I have the original green one and it looks like it's pretty chewed up. ( Uh, I did run aground a couple times on the sandbars, doh!)

By the way Bill (bizler) the splash guard looks great and performed just as well. Thanks so much.  \./8

Even with the lousy weather it was still a great day on the Mokai, looking forward to summer!

Steering cable adjustment makes no difference tracking, that is a side effect of hull flex and pump clocking. Clamp the pump so it's around 12:05 on the clock. Shifting your weight to compensate helps too. These are all like that.

Wear ring is a huge factor for speed loss. You'll want one of my aluminum rings, order when ready.

Glad you had a great time, sorry to hear the GoPro wouldn't agree....  :-O

I have the exact same issue with my steering. I set the pump at 12:10, and it seems to help.

Weight shift is a biggie for that too. If my seat is one inch to the right, it tracks terrible.
