Thanks guys! I will definitely be in the red zone on the map, ( I downloaded it ) Iíll have to measure the hull, as most kayak cables wouldnít come close to fitting it. Thatís a good idea, backing the trailer to a wall. I would also take the pump & ring out too.

Just got some bad news ( and sorta good ) from my work. Seems we are moving to a cheaper location. My normal drive to work is 15 minutes, but now it will be around 1 1/2 hours on the turnpike! Bensalem, Pa.
Iím posting this because the only upside is that we will be one block from the Delaware River. At least three ramps nearby! Iím using one of them Saturday, at Neshaminy State Park.

I just wish I didnít get rid of my snow tires this year, they really work.

Yeah, I donít think Iíll be going out in the cold water this winter. I just had to sow my oats after buying it in late fall last year.

Unfortunately, the job move is a bad thing. After 20 years, Iím looking for another job. Itís just too far, and $400 a month in tolls is just too much.

Just thought I would let Tom know that Iíve been out on the water all weekend, with absolutely no engine issues! The Sta-Bil marine additive is really helping.

Looks like Iím heading to Washington DC next weekend! I need a break real bad, and Iíve never been there.
I plan on launching the Mokai from the Columbia Island Marina, on the Potomac River. Hopefully Iíll be able to walk around some of the sights too, but the river is my goal for this trip.

Thatís how Iím planning it. Itís all weather permitting of course, and little to no wind. Iíll know for sure later next week.

Well, it was a perfect sunny, no wind morning is Washington DC. Left the house at 3:30 am, and arrived at 7am.
Very nice Marina, and only one bass boat putting in, so I put the Mokai in right away.

I warmed up the motor, and headed out of the Marina. About 100í from the ramp I heard a ď clunk ď metallic sound, and the engine started running rough. Turned around and went back to the ramp, where it died.
That ended my trip, and got home at noon. 240 miles for nothing.

I was going to get a new engine from Tom, but now Iím looking into a small Jon Boat instead. Either way, I would at least have him fix this engine so it could be sold. I have some thinking to do.
If I sold it, I would really miss this forum!!

Thanks Tom. There was water on top of the motor, so it could be a leak in the water cooling system. I donít know. Never left the no wake zone, and the water was glass, so it wasnít coming in.

Ok, could be. My muffler will rust if not kept dry or allowed to completely dry out before letting it sit. Pull the motor out and inspect the muffler, then pull the plug and crank the motor over by hand to see if any water comes out. If so, pull the muffler off and change the oil, then put the plug back in and start it without the muffler. If it starts just let it idle, don't rev it up, but you'll know if the motor is ok and you just need a new muffler.

Iíll try it Sunday hopefully. Remember too, I had it in salt water this year. I donít think that helped any.
