Just found these Suburu ex17 engines on eBay. Not sure if the tapered shaft is something that could be made do.

The only thing that engine would be useful for would be to use the head as an upgrade to an EX21.

Not really, I charge $200 for the EX17 head upgrade when I do conversions. Granted there is labor and some materials included in that price. If you tried to buy a complete EX17 head new, it would be over $250.
