New improved engine push back handle
« on: June 24, 2018, 11:38:38 AM »
Well I made a new engine push back handle , the original one was too short and hard to pull on to push the engine back for removal.
I also needed to make them for the 2 newest (to me) mokai's because they didn't have them.

Chad,

Maybe you can start selling these good stuff. I dont have this model with second lever but theres a possibility  ;)

Also with your skill, i wont be surprise if I see a nice seat platform with attached side small compartments for drinks and pliers etc and one more.. a fish finder mount inside front area that does not affect pull starting. I think top area ideally (at least for me) must be clear for paddling and fishing....Manufacturers are so busy making accessories for Hobie kayaks and not seeing the needs of Mokai owners...

Also you might want to check this one.. This is all i used for reverse and steeering the boat when engine is off...

Or just send the feet to Tom and let him do his magic.. Mine was tight when installed but once front lock lever is released, it can easilly be pulled even when hot. Im not sure if same for all but Tom seems to have found the root cause of the problem. And know exactly where to shave it  :)

It's combination of the machining, and nailing the installation. Which means you did a good job of the latter.  ;)

Great job. Wish I had learned some of these skills growing up, instead of spending all my time dribbling a basketball. Guess it's never to late to learn.
