jet pump splash guard
« on: June 16, 2018, 09:34:14 AM »
This rear water splash from jet pump needs to stop. Did not cause any problem but water can wet the rear cover and can find its way to the engine compartment.

I have not seen one that can reuse the existing handle bolts so for now Ill use the hole tapped by Tom. I can cut a wider plastic but will start with a small footprint. Once i figured out the perfect width then will start building a better shape.
Feel free to make suggestions as im not sure what im doing...

I hope its tight enough and stay in the position. I dont think this JP vibrates or if the splash pressure is strong enough to move this...no laughing with the design please   :))

That's a start, could be all you need. I ended up making a hinged guard that covered that entire area. http://www.improvingyourmokai.com/index.php/topic,67.msg265.html#msg265

Thanks for the reassurance Tom.

If mine does not work, i will go that fully covered design but will see if i can modify that to use the existing handle two top bolts. Stainless flat bar that travels around from one side to the other side and the piano hinges attached or welded to this bar. I think someone already did this...reused the existing bolts but i think it was used for sonething else..

You are welcome, guys.  And thanks for your feedback and photos, Nap and Tom.

I actually made 4 of them so I have three that are available if anyone is interested.  ;)

The last one I had on hand just sold as I was about to reply to this message.  I will have to buy more of the ABS material and fabricate some more.  I am charging $40 including postage which is $18.90 for Priority Mail.  I can get two in the same package so 2 would be $60.  E-mail me at bizler1@aol.com to order.

Just received two splash guards done by Bizler.  Excellent work ... good materials and very easy to attach to existing rear handles on the Mokai.  Great work!!!
