Picked up this 6amp charger at the Salvation Army Store this morning for $5.00. Put on a quick connector and now I have a charger just for the Mokai battery.

Nice!! Great idea, too. I've been meaning to make a dedicated charger for mine but I still haven't taken the time to do it!! Now I will have to make it happen. Good job!  \./8

Hey Tom and Larry. I want to set up a dedicated charger for my now painless boats (I ran them both in the garage today, but will probably wait until Spring to get them wet). I was thinking of just leaving the battery in the boat, but wiring up a quick connect charger similar to what you did Larry. I was wondering if you guys had part numbers for the connectors. I found some on Amazon, but wasn't sure which AWG kit to get.

Nice find.

You probably know this already, but 2Amp setting should be max for Mokai stock battery.

Any trickle charger will work fine, historically I've never used a charger when not using the boat. I just make it a point to start it every few weeks and let it idle for 20-30 minutes. That keeps the fuel moving, the battery charged, and the oil circulated. Best thing you can do for these is run them regularly.

These are the connectors I use, and for charging you can use 18awg since there isn't any current to speak of; so it really doesn't matter what size wire.

Thanks Happul3. These will be the smallest batteries I’ve charged with a charger. I normally use 6 amp waterproof chargers to charge my other boats, sonars, bait tanks, etc, but they are kind of pricey. I might get a small (cheap) modern trickle charger for this purpose. If as Tom says, just idling for a half hour is better for the system, I may end up just doing it that way.
