Carburetor Question ??
« on: March 02, 2016, 08:43:09 PM »
Hello

My carburetor on my EX210DE503 has bit the dust. What part number do I need to replace it with? Per Subaru Power I need part # 278-62301-40.

Is this correct or do I need a different Carburetor?

Thanks

That is the correct number, but what made you determine your carb is no good?

well i'm somewhat mechanically inclined, but no small engine mechanic. lol. Carb started leaking gas and getting tough to start. I decided to break the carb down and clean it up. I thought i cleaned it up pretty well and put it back together. It started easier but still leaked gas. From what I understand leaking gas is typically an issue with the float and pin. I continued to take it apart and make sure everything was in order. As far as I could tell it was. Instead of continually trouble shooting with it or taking it to a small engine mechanic that would charge me $50-60 bucks just to look at it. Plus all the small engine lawn mower shops are swamped with work right now with spring coming. I found the carb online for $100 and figured I would just order it and be done with it. Figured this would be the quickest easiest option and get me back on the water the quickest. Got the carb in the mail today and got it installed with new gaskets in 15-20 minutes tonight. Started right up and ran good in the garage. Just got to thinking I hope Mokai didn't have a different carb on it to meet their needs. Glad to hear i got the right part. Thanks for your help!

Ahh ok, I agree with your logic now that I understand. Never tried to get parts to rebuild one so that is something I will have to look into so we all know what the best option is in the future. Glad you got it running good with the new carb!  \./8
