Yeah.. but, keep in mind also that I got this boat late spring 2015. Been sitting in my garage, just no time to get to it until now.
I will check the replacement out carefully before diving in to remove the carb. I was told that a "chemical" was used to secure the fitting to the insulator. I'm not sure what he meant by it. JB weld always an easy option.
We shall see...
Another issue right now is that as I assembled the boat, I discovered the bow section did not match the body in color. So they are helping me to correct this with a replacement.
But I understand why this happens. If you don't mold all boat parts in one mold at the same time, you just cannot control the batch color to the degree you would need in order to avoid this. This makes those molds much larger and more expensive. On the flip side, you now have to cherry-pick the sections to match and never get it exactly right, with possible left-overs. Actually, I think the darker colors don't show this as much?
Too bad there isn't an easy method to "bleach" HDPE, which is what I would need to lighten my darker yellow bow.
Oh well, all in a days work.
